 4 Days Cycling Along the Congo Nile Trail | Biking Tours

The Congo Nile Trail takes visitors to explore the unusually explores part of Rwanda, which has so much adventure and a unique add on to your gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda.
The Congo Nile trail commences from Karongi biking through Gisenyi taking travelers through Rwanda’s countryside with amazing view of the mountainous country side, beautiful views of Lake Kivu, coffee and tea plantations, biking through communal home stead and meeting village Rwanda,
The Congo Nile trails is a 2- 5 days biking tour covers over 97 Kilometers stretching in districts of Karongi and Rubavu riding on steep terrain and most part of the country is hilly.
4 Days with overnights completes the trail, but can be tailored to 2 day – 4 Days to suite travel plans

Detailed Tour Itinerary of the 4 Days Cycling along the Congo Nile Trail

Day 1: Kigali city tour & Transfer to Kibuye

Your guide will pick you up from from Kigali after an early breakfast. Before and transfer to Kibuye, the Congo Nile trail starting point, you will have a city tour of Kigali. Places to visit in Kigali include Gisozi genocide site to learn about Rwanda’s past dark history, local markets.

Later drive to Kibuye visiting the town and Lunch. In the afternoon have a relaxing boat ride along lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena hotel (Luxury)/ Palm gardens resort (Deluxe)/ Paradise Marahide (Budget)

Day 2: Biking from Kibuye – Kinunu village

Start your day with early breakfast at your hotel, with a packed snack and lots of water, headpff to start your biking adventure from Kibuye to Kinunu village. This is a 2 Days biking route with en route overnight.

This route offers you very beautiful views of Lake Kivu, riding through local Rwandan communities, see their way of living, see tea plantations covering the rolling hill of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at Kinunu Guest house

Day 3: Biking Kinunu – Gisenyi

Start off with early breakfast and with your packed lunch begin your cycling expedition, biking around lake kivu, exploring fishing villages and meet fishermen, visit to hotsprings. Overnight at the fishing village

Day 4: Rubona Hill – Gesenyi – Kigali

Early breakfast at your hotel and with packed lunch begine your biking tour uphill Rubona hill with very great views. Also visit Gisenyi town on bike. In the afternoon drive back to Kigali.
