Tour Itinerary of this 7 Days Rwanda Primates Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe national park
Start your Rwanda primates tour with morning coffee at your hotel and be ready to be picked by your guide for a drive to Nyungwe National park. You will have en route stopover in Nyanza museum, kings palace in Butare, later lunch reaching Nyungwe in the evening for dinner and overnight at Nyungwe forest Lodge/Nyungwe top view lodge/Gisakura hotel.

Day 2: Chimps Tracking – Canopy Walk
Wake up to your breakfast at your hotel and with your guide drive to the Nyungwe headquarters for briefing and begin the chimpanzee trekking. You will also look out for colobus monkeys in the forest as well as other fauna like birds, butterflies. Dinner and overnight at your hotel of Day 1.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes national park.
Begin the day with breakfast and enjoy a spectacular drive to Volcanoes national park with stopovers for photography and lunch. Reach Volcanoes national park in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Mountain gorilla view lodge/La Palme hotel/Muhabura hotel.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking adventure – Ibyiwacu Cultural Village
Today is the day to see the gorillas, wake up early for a quick breakfast and with your guide, drive to the Kinigi park head offices where briefing takes place. You can enjoy a cup of coffee and Kinyarwanda cultural performance before the briefing. Before, your gorilla trek, you will have a briefing on the general overview of what takes place once you meet the gorillas, how to conduct.

You have a chance to which they type of hike you want- easy, moderate and tough, so you decide according to your physical ability. Once you meet the gorillas, you get to spend just one hour with them, you can photograph them, watch how they interact with each other not affected by your company! It’s such a wonderful experience.
Note: Your camera should not have Flashlight as it can threaten the gorillas.

Once you descend from the forest, have lunch at your hotel and relax, In the afternoon head out to visit the Ibyiwacu cultural village. Later retire to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Tracking – Tour Twin Lake of Burera & Ruhondo
Enjoy breakfast in the morning and head off for a briefing before your golden monkey tracking adventure. Golden monkeys are an endangered primates species and offer a fantastic adventure. After the trek, have lunch and in the evening go visit twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight at your hotel

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Kivu
Start your day with breakfast at your hotel and embark on a journey with your guide to Lake Kivu. This is the largest freshwater Lake in Rwanda and provides a perfect relaxing place when in Rwanda. En route visit the Murambi Genocide Memorial Site and the King’s palace reaching Lake Kivu in the evening to relax along the lake shores. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena hotel (Luxury)/ Palm gardens resort (Deluxe)/ Paradise Marahide (Budget)

Day 7: Boat Ride to Nyamirundi Island – Departure
Breakfast at the lodge and enjoy a beautiful boat ride along to the Nyamirundi coffee island. Here you will learn how coffee is processed in Rwanda. In the afternoon drive back to Kigali with drop off at either your hotel or the airport.
