Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe national park
Start your Rwanda primates tour with morning coffee at your hotel and be ready to be picked by your guide for a drive to Nyungwe National park. You will have en route stopover in Nyanza museum, kings palace in Butare , later lunch reaching Nyungwe in the evening for dinner and overnight at Nyungwe forest Lodge/Nyungwe top view lodge/Gisakura hotel.
Day 2: Chimps Tracking – Canopy Walk
Wake up to your breakfast at your hotel and with your guide drive to the Nyungwe headquaters for briefing and begin the chimpanzee trekking. You will also lookout for colobus monkeys in the forest as well as other fauna like birds, butterflies. Dinner and overnight at your hotel of Day 1.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes national park.
Begin the day with breakfast and enjoy a spectacular drive to Volcanoes national park with stopovers for photography and lunch. Reach Volcanoes national park in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Mountain gorilla view lodge/La palme hotel/Muhabura hotel.
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking – Ibywacu Cultural Village
Start your day with breakfast at your hotel, proceed with your tour guide to the Kinigi park headquarters for briefing. Go gorilla trekking with your guide and an armed guard in the Volcanoes forest in search for Mountain gorillas meet them, it’s a great opportunity to study, photograph them. Their behavior and mannerism is mesmerizing and the way they communicate, silverback controls the group is very much eye catching. In the afternoon, you will visit the Ibyiwacu cultural village where you will discover more about the Rwandan culture and also get entertained by the traditional dancers and later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Mount Karisimbi Hiking
Early morning coffee and proceed to the Kinigi headquarters for registration and briefing a, you will be escorted by the Ranger guides to Hike Mt. Karisimbi, the fifth highest snowcapped mountain of Africa. Trekking is via Bisoke side and up to an altitude of 3700m where you will have dinner and overnight, half way Mt Karisimbi.
Day 6: Descend down Mount Karisimbi
Early in the morning, continue the trek up to the top of karisimbi, where you will enjoy the beautiful scenery. Then descend down the volcano, and retire to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Golden Monkey Tracking – Tour Twin Lake of Burera & Ruhondo
Enjoy breakfast in the morning and head off for briefing before your golden monkey tracking adventure. Golden monkeys are an endangered primates specie and offer a fantastic adventure. After the trek, have lunch and in the evening go visit twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight at your hotel
Day 8: Transfer to Kigali for City Tour – Departure
Morning breakfast at your hotel and return to Kigali for a Kigali city tour, visiting the Gisozi genocide memorial site and other outstanding tourist attractions around the city and later you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight.
