Detailed 3 Day Virunga Gorilla Trek Safari Itinerary:
Day 1: Enjoy a guided Kigali city tour & transfer to Kisoro, Southwestern Uganda.
Today, your journey will start with a hefty breakfast at the hotel in Kigali. After, meet an experienced guide from Maranatha Tours and Travel for a warm welcome and also have a short orientation about your trip. Leave your comfortable hotel for a short Kigali tour and this includes paying a visit some of the finest sites within the reach of the city centre.
The Kigali city excursion will encompass a tour in Gisozi genocide memorial. It is at Gisozi where the local expert will take you through the dark history, a tragic event that has also shaped the country. Still in Kigali, don’t leave without visiting Kimironko, one of the biggest local markets in Rwanda.
After, settle to enjoy a leisurely lunch and then proceed to Kisoro through Cyanika border. At Kisoro, enjoy spectacular views of surrounding features including the rolling hills, the scenic Virunga Massifs and Lake Mutanda. At leisure, dine and later retire for the night at the pre-booked lodge/hotel.

Day 2: Embark on Virunga gorilla trekking adventure & relax in the evening.
Get up early and enjoy your cup of coffee or tea and after, you will be picked up at the hotel in Kisoro. Cross to D.R. Congo through Bunagana border and join other trekkers on the morning briefing about gorilla trekking rules and regulations.
The Virunga National Park official will use this period to also allocate guests habituated gorilla groups. After, start navigating through the lush rainforest in search of the massive mountain gorillas.
Today’s adventure will include an experienced park ranger guide will be leading you through.
The entire adventure through Virunga may go for 2-6 hours with a guaranteed one hour for up close and personal encounter. Besides mountain gorillas, Virunga Gorilla Park is a naturally endowed ecosystem and today, there are higher chances of you encountering other primates like blue monkeys, colobus monkeys and birds. After, you will walk back and have great time at the lodge/hotel.
